Greetings:
The Joint Hospital Planning Council was founded by parties at
both Bridgeport Hospital and St. Vincent's Medical Center.
Its purpose is to provide medical control for
ambulances operating within the Greater Bridgeport Area. This
region encompasses the cities/ towns of Bridgeport,
Fairfield, Stratford, Trumbull, Monroe and
Easton.
Our organizations' mission is to provide excellence in EMS care
to these areas by through quality educational programs,
institution of effective quality improvement programs, and
by enforcement of our regional protocols. Cooperation and teamwork
between our organization, the ambulance companies operating
within the region, and the hospitals providing definitive
patient care is essential to the fulfillment of this mission.
This site is a labor of many months. In designing the site I
attempted to come up with a structure that allows JHPC to fulfill
its commitment to its community. I wanted EMS personnel to be able
to rapidly find and download information relevant to their
education and practice. I also wanted them to become familiar with
the faces and names of the members of our organization.
For my part I wanted a rapid means of disseminating
information and announcements to those organizations operating
ambulances in the Joint Hospital Planning Council's region. I also
hoped it would provide these organizations and their
EMS personnel the means to rapidly ask and obtain answers to
questions they have about its policies and protocols as well.
Lastly I hope this site serves as a means for the public
to learn more about us all, and to appreciate the services JHPC,
our hospitals and the EMS system provide to their community
I definitely want feedback from anybody and everyone out there
regarding the content and structure of this site, especially ideas
to make it more efficiently fulfill its purpose. Please
